Services for CTE schools & organizations

AI training that keeps CTE hands‑on.

Professional development and keynotes for career and technical educators, led by a CTE graduate, former tradesperson and CTE teacher. Your staff leave with working tools for their own programs, not a slide deck about AI.

Why CTELab.ai

Built for shops, labs and kitchens, not generic classrooms.

From the trades

Every session is designed by someone who has run a jobsite and a CTE shop, so the examples fit your pathways, your safety culture and your students.

Build, don't just watch

Teachers work on real problems from their own programs and leave with something they can use on Monday: a tool, a lesson, a rubric or a workflow.

Teacher-governed AI

Privacy, acceptable use, academic integrity and safety are built into the work, using the tools your school already licenses.

AI professional development

Four ways to bring AI into your CTE programs.

Every engagement is tailored to your pathways, your platforms and where your staff are starting from. All formats are available on-site or live virtual. No coding background required.

01

Hands-on workshops

A half-day or full-day session where teachers learn the core mindsets for working with AI, then build a working tool for their own program before they leave.

Length
Half day or full day
Best for
PD days, department meetings, conference pre-sessions
Delivery
On-site or virtual
02

Multi-session cohorts

A series across a semester or school year. Each session adds a new technique, and teachers bring back what they built and tried with students for feedback and review.

Length
4 to 10 sessions
Best for
Teacher leaders, AI champions, cross-pathway teams
Delivery
On-site, virtual or hybrid
03

Leadership & policy advising

Guidance for directors, principals and district teams: AI acceptable-use and academic-integrity policy, privacy review, tool selection and a practical rollout plan for CTE.

Length
Working sessions or an advisory engagement
Best for
CTE directors, administrators, school committees
Delivery
On-site or virtual
04

Coaching & build sprints

Small-group or one-on-one support to design and build a specific tool for one program, such as a food-cost calculator, a repair estimator, an equipment tracker or a certification study guide.

Length
1 to 4 weeks
Best for
A program with a clear problem to solve
Delivery
Virtual, with optional on-site days

What participants leave with

  • A working AI-built tool, lesson or rubric for their own pathway
  • The five mindsets and five techniques for working with AI
  • The AI Project Loop they can run with students: ask, research, create, critique, improve, reflect
  • Classroom-ready guidance on privacy, safety and academic integrity
  • Prompts, templates and next steps to keep building after the session

How it works

From first call to follow-through.

  1. 1 · Discovery call

A short conversation about your pathways, your staff, the tools you license and what success looks like.

  2. 2 · Tailored plan

A proposal with format, agenda, pathway-specific build examples and a quote. Adjust it until it fits.

  3. 3 · Deliver

Hands-on sessions on-site or virtual, with every participant building something real for their program.

  4. 4 · Follow through

Session resources, templates and a recommended next step so the work keeps going after the day ends.

Professional speaking

Keynotes that move a room from curious to building.

Michael speaks to CTE educators, leaders and workforce partners about what AI means for hands-on learning, and he often builds something live on stage so the audience sees exactly how it works.

Keynote

AI That Keeps CTE Hands-On

Why AI should help students plan, improve, explain and document their work, not pull them away from it, and what that looks like in a real shop, lab or kitchen.

Keynote · Live build

No Code Required: Building Real Tools with AI, Live

A working app for a real CTE program, built from scratch on stage. Every prompt, every bug and every fix, with a clear path for teachers to do the same.

Keynote or breakout

From the Jobsite to the Prompt

What the trades already teach about working with AI: plan with intent, measure twice, check the work, and build systems that run every time.

Policy, privacy, tool choices and staff development for directors and administrators, with a practical roadmap from first pilot to program-wide practice.

Common questions

Before you book.

Do teachers need any coding or technical background?

No. Sessions start from plain-language mindsets and build up. Teachers describe what they want and learn how to direct, check and improve what AI produces.

Can sessions focus on our specific pathways?

Yes. Examples and builds are chosen from your programs, whether that's culinary, automotive, health science, construction, manufacturing, digital media or any other pathway. Mixed-pathway groups work well too.

Which AI tools do you use?

Whatever fits your school. Sessions are planned around the platforms and accounts your district already approves, with guidance on privacy and age requirements for student use.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. Every format is available live and virtual, on-site, or as a hybrid of both.

How is pricing set?

Each engagement is quoted based on format, length, group size and travel. Send a few details and you'll get a tailored proposal.
